This means stating your opponent's point in a way that makes it seem easy to "knock down," like a straw man.

 

"You want to impose a curfew, which will increase stress, and cause me to fail more classes."

 

The Fact Is: Obviously, the parent's point of view is that a curfew might in fact help this speaker pass the class he or she has already failed!

 

Lies 3-6, as you can see, are all similar.
