Report Makeover #37:Story Maps and Boxes Each week, Education World offers a new idea to help you "make over" boring book report formats. If you're looking for a way to spice up book reports -- and truly engage students in reading -- you've come to the right place. Check out this week's makeover idea… Students use a story-mapping template to create a story box. Have students complete a Story Map Worksheet about a book they have read. Then tell students they will use the information in the worksheet to create a story box. Provide each student with a story box template. (See http://www.msssbible.com/crafts/storybox/cube.htm.) Each square in the template should be 3 inches across. Explain to students that they must fill in the squares using the following information from their story map work sheets:
When the story boxes are completed, encourage students to share them with their class mates. Source: Story Maps and Boxes. Education World® |
