Moving the Stationary Classroom Online

Web site name:
Mr. Atchison’s Webpage
Web site URL:
http://cfbstaff.cfbisd.edu/atchisonr/
Web site creator:
Robert Atchison, 4th Grade Teacher, Thompson Elementary, Carrollton, Texas

If you want to see how learning can be enjoyable and interactive, a visit to Mr.Atchison’s Web Page is a great start. The site features learning tools for parents and students alike. Those tools range from a homework help center to a movie station. In addition, the work that Mr. A’s students create is featured throughout the site, and parents are easily kept updated on the day-to-day happenings of their children.

Mr. Atchison started the website with the hope that his students and parents would be able to access their class’s unique learning community from home. One of the features that Mr. Atchison is most proud of is the class newspaper his students decided to start this year. It is student run and written and is updated weekly on the webpage.

Mr.Atchison’s Web Page is a great learning resource and a good example of moving the stationary classroom into the online community.
