Student 'Penny War' Benefits Community
A "penny war" among grades at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona, raised big bucks for a local community program. Sponsored by the school’s National Honor Society, grades earned points for their contributions. The "war" raised more than $700.

Core Knowledge Schools Draw Support
Colorado now has 62 schools based on the Core Knowledge model, more than any other state, and the schools are attracting visitors from around the U.S. Core Knowledge is a model developed by educator E.D. Hirsch 15 years ago.
