Brief Description
Students learn about the migration patterns of big brown bats. Students use satellite imaging to track a bat's movements through Arizona and record the locations on a map.

Computer with Internet access; Echo the Bat; map of Arizona, one copy for each student
Lesson Plan
- Review the Echo the Bat Teachers Guide for background information, an overview of the online activities, and extension activities.
- Have students read, or read aloud, the story of Echo the Bat.
- Print the map of Arizona and provide each student with a copy.
- Invite students to take part in the Adventure of Echo the Bat and complete the migration map.
Assessment
Evaluate students on the information recorded on the map.
