Lesson Plan
- Explain to students that a mnemonic is a device, such as a formula or rhyme, that people use as an aid to remember something (from Dictionary.com).
- Ask students to review Spelling and Grammar, Musical Spelling Rules, or other print or online resources containing mnemonics for spelling.
- Provide each student with a word from the class spelling list. Have each student write and illustrate a mnemonic that will help him or her remember how to spell the assigned word.
