Lesson Plan During the month of May, we celebrate the achievements of U.S. residents of Asian and Pacific-Island heritage. The month, known as Asian Pacific American Heritage (APA) Month, recognizes the immigration of the first Japanese immigrants to the United States on May 7, 1843.
