CONTENT: This site contains over 340 pictures and stereo 3D images of the solar system as well as interactive quizzes.
AESTHETICS: The site's main page is basically text links to the many pictures and quizzes. The images on the site, courtesy of NASA/JPL, are high quality and are presented in a small quickly downloaded format.
ORGANIZATION: Information and pictures of each planet can be accessed from the site's main index page. From the individual planet pages all information is made available in an index of links.
REVIEW: This site is especially useful to middle school students studying the solar system. Each planet has a page that offers technical information, images (many of them in 3-D), and quizzes to test knowledge. Additionally, there are 15 "picture quizzes" that include a picture with each multiple-choice question. These are very brief and graded online, so the user can go back to try different answers until they learn all the correct facts represented on a quiz. Included is a glossary of terms, mnemonics to help students to learn the planets of the solar system in their correct order from the Sun, and links to other resources. Visitors will also find information on recent and upcoming events such as the December 2002 Solar Eclipse and Mercury's 2003 transit of the Sun.
