REVIEW:
AncientMexico.com is an interesting site to explore for students,
teachers, or anyone wanting to learn more about the pre-Columbian
era of Mesoamerica. The interactive Map provides access to information,
diagrams, and pictures of around twenty cities. The section on the
Gods examines the gods of the Mayan religion including the Rabbit
Scribe, Jaguar Baby, and Chac. The Conquest section chronicles the
time from the arrival of the Spaniards in 1519 to the fall of the
Aztec Empire. The Documents section features primary sources such
as An Indian Account of the Aztec Religion, The Meeting of Cortés
and Montezuma, A Letter from Cortés to the King of Spain, and
A Poem by The Poet King of Texcoco. The Timeline provides a colorful
overview of the historical period covered by the site's content. |
