REVIEW:
This Website offers a wealth of resources for anyone involved with exceptional children. Although designed for and specifically targeted at those who work with "twice-exceptional" kids (children who are both gifted and learning disabled in some way), the site offers valuable information on all kinds of special needs, support services, issues, and personal experiences. There is an area designed Especially for Parents that lists resources for home schooling, camps, residential placements, and college. The Web site has a list of resources dealing with more than twenty specific areas of need -- AD(H)D, Tourette's Syndrome, Dyslexia, Vision Problems, Conduct Disorders, and many more. Other areas focus on assessment information, treatment options, online support groups, and assistive technology. The site has a section with stories and personal experiences of people who have dealt with the problems discussed on this Web site. In addition, Uniquely Gifted lists resources such as email lists and bulletin boards that may be helpful to adults and children alike. The site has reminders and warnings about Internet safety for kids and links to a site where one can learn about staying safe while gaining valuable information on the net. A tremendous collection of well-organized resources, this site is recommended for teachers, parents, kids and anyone involved with children.
