Winslow Homer was equally talented in the art of illustration, oil painting and watercolor and is one of America's most cherished artists of the 19th century. This site highlights a wide range of his works from the battlefields, farmland, and coastal villages of America, to the North Sea fishing village of Cullercoats, the rocky coast of Maine, the Adirondacks, and the Caribbean, offering viewers the opportunity to experience and appreciate the breadth of his remarkable artistic achievement. Thirty-five of the images are grouped into a slideshow where users can zoom in for a closer look of the brush strokes and details. The highlights section offers viewers a glimpse of Homer's life and career including video clips about his life.
