http://www.gfhandel.org/

CONTENT:
This Web site, as the name suggest, makes information about the life, work, and times of famous German composer G.F. Handel (1685-1759) available to scholars, enthusiasts, and the general public.
SITE DESIGN:
The site contains a large amount of well-organized material. The navigation menu is in the left sidebar which is lengthy and needs to be scrolled to be viewed in its entirety. RealPlayer is needed.

REVIEW:
This site is a great resource for anyone interested in learning more about the renowned German composer, G.F. Handel. It contains a short biographical sketch of the man as well as information and reviews about the latest recordings of his works. A complete discography catalogs his operas, oratorios, dramas, and odes. Visitors to the site can also find lists of upcoming concerts, festivals, radio/TV programs, conferences, and workshops. More can be learned about Handel through the chronology, the anecdotes, which contain quotations, stories, and excerpts from letters, and the potpourri section, which contains images of trading cards, coins, busts, portraits, statues, etc. all relating to Handel. Additionally, a compositional catalog is available, along with interviews with various artists and conductors and a complete section on his most famous work, "The Messiah."
