Grade Level: 6-8, 9-12

http://www.thatsnotcool.com/

CONTENT
This site addresses text harassment and the use of technology in violent and/or controlling relationships. Sponsored and co-created by the Family Violence Prevention Fund, the Office on Violence Against Women and the Ad Council, the site is designed to address new and complicated problems between teens who are dating or hooking up -- such problems as constant and controlling texting, pressuring for nude pictures, and breaking into someone's e-mail or social networking page.
SITE DESIGN
This well done site uses cute graphics and video to get its message across. Content is arranged into four groups: videos, callout cards, talk it out, and need help. Links to those areas are in the top navigation bar. .

REVIEW
That’s Not Cool is attempting to raise awareness about digital dating abuse and stop it before it gets worse. Teenagers can get solutions to their dilemmas by watching the two-sided stories in the video section; the videos address such topics as obsessive texting, pressuring for naughty pictures, and breaking into e-mai or social Web sites. Call-out cards offer answers to such problems as textual harassment, privacy, cell phone trouble, rumors, and more. In Talk it Out, users can get and give advice, read someone else’s story, or submit their own. The Need Help section offers information on identifying abuse, what you can do if you if you think you or a friend is being abused, and how to find the number for the National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline if you need help right away. Additional resources also are available in the right sidebar.
