The Virtual Reference Library is produced by the Toronto Public Library. It contains a multitude of reviewed online resources.

The layout is attractive with a quick-loading image map for easy navigation. JavaScript is used to provide further information in pop-up windows.

ORGANIZATION:
The site is divided into two major sections: Search the Internet and Library Resources. The subsections are clearly marked in a bulleted list at the top of the image map.

REVIEW:
By clicking on Search the Internet, users will find the hand-selected and annotated links chosen by the Toronto Public Library staff. Users can look for sites by subject or by keyword. The library staff has included a brief description of each site and the language used. Many sites are Canadian, but users will find many international sites as well. A few of the main subject guides are Arts, Business and Economics, Education, Government, and Immigration and Citizenship. The Toronto Public Library also includes guides to its many collections.
