CONTENT:
Part of the larger Scholastic site, Writing With Writers provides an excellent resource for teaching writing.
AESTHETICS:
The site is attractively designed and user friendly.
ORGANIZATION:
The left-side index provides access to nine workshops by topic or author. Links on subsequent pages are clearly marked and intuitive.
REVIEW:
Do you want to have your students improve their writing skills as they learn from such notable authors as Jack Prelutsky and Virginia Hamilton? Writing With Authors provides all the materials and information necessary for K-8 teachers and students. The writing workshops explore such genres as biographies, fairy tales, folk tales, mysteries, and myths as well as poetry, news, journals, and book reviews. Each workshop includes examples, step-by-step instructions for writing, a teacher's guide, a transcript of an interview with the author, and directions for publishing students' finished works.
