REVIEW:
This site tells the story of a group of freed and escaped slaves, the black loyalists, who fought for the British in the Revolutionary War. The Communities section contains maps and descriptions of the black communities. The People section gives illustrated short biographies of religious leaders, spokesmen, settlers, and a few influential whites. The Documents section presents primary sources, including letters and personal documents, official papers, and proclamations that reveal the quality of life for these people. This is a great site to add to your Black History Month curriculum.
