REVIEW:
Since natural disasters can strike at any time it is always best to be aware and to be prepared. This website can help users to do that.
It was set up to help teachers be prepared and to help their students to also be prepared. The guide has information on topics such as
"What Children May Be Experiencing", "Children's Responses to Disasters" and "What Teachers Can Do". The site also has additional resources
to activities and literature. The activities at the site are grouped by age (preschool and elementary and middle - high school). There are also
curriculum suggestions for learning about disasters and disaster preparedness. A link to the Illinois Cooperative Extension Service Homepage is
available and has additional natural disaster information. Generally, people don't want to think about disaster but preparation is key and this would be an excellent
way to provide lessons for students in order to inform and teach them on the subject so they are ready if a disaster should occur.
