Feedback is always important to us here at Education World. Here are some comments from our players. We read it all carefully, and incorporated your needs and concerns into our second Chalk Talk Challenge.

The questions are not challenging enough. Because as a educationist I was expecting something different. Thanks once again for the oppertunity to answer those SIMPLE questions. Keep up the good work!

Question 1 from this week, ESL, gives a very narrow of answers to chose from. The one answer of children learning English in their everyday lives hints at dropping ESL. Make your choices explicit and don't hide them in politically correct language. You will not get a true opinion by having biased choices and then a no opinion answer. Don't assume that people have no opinion just because you don't put their opinion as one of the choices!

I think your survey questions should have an "E" alternative that allows you to show you are interested in the subject and do have an opinion, but it is simply different than those you have offered. With your year round school question, for example, I think year round schools with breaks occasionally are a great option, but not because of overcrowding and that students should be staggered. I just think it's silly that children in our country are taught that they can learn so many months of the year, then play a few months (without learning anything of substance in most cases) and then get excited about learning again. Learning is a life-long process that should occur daily and be exciting, not something that we take for granted to be provided "to" us nine months out of twelve.

I like this straw pole, but would like to see a more direct way to make thread or board comment after each question... or have hypertext page after the last question, for more discussion! Thanks.

I do have some comments about the Chalk Talk "Game" also. Some of the questions seem to give only polarized answers and/or one right down the middle. Also, some questions should have another option for "I have an opinion, but it is not expressed here!" Several of the questions seem designed to head you to the least controversial answer. What value do you expect to get from this? I don't think much, from the way the questions are designed. I would be happy to elaborate further if you have any questions.
