Kenston High School Reigns As The Education WorldŽ National "COOL SCHOOL OF THE YEAR"

Cool students, cool teachers, cool parents, cool awards, cool balloons and cool refreshments - what do all these things have in common?

They were all part of the "Cool School of the Year" ceremony honoring Kenston High School as the coolest school in the nation for their outstanding Web site.

THE THIRD ANNUAL COOL SCHOOL OF THE YEAR

Kenston High School in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, was announced as the winner on March 17, 2000 to honor the best 1999 COOL SCHOOL. The site can be viewed at http://kenston.k12.oh.us/khs/khs.htm.

The school received over $10,000 in networking equipment from Cisco Systems, an Education World trophy, certificates, plaques, mousepads, T-shirts and other outstanding prizes.

Cool School Of the Year Presentation

Education WorldŽ, the world's best education Web site (FamilyPC) and search engine on the Internet, and Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, sponsored the Cool School of the Year program to honor high-tech students, advisers and the best school Web site.

Teacher and Web Advisor Ronnie Continenza and his student Web team - six full-time contributors and 20 to 30 reporters - have worked hard to provide the school and community with a resource they'll want to keep coming back to. They designed the award-winning site with simplicity in mind, including fast-loading pages with heaps of pictures and a clean layout.

"Our Web site's 800+ pages showcase every facet of student life at Kenston. It really is an interactive community with content so up-to-date, sometimes we even beat the morning papers," Continenza said.
