The Learning Calendar
During the past year, Education World launched the Learning Calendar.
This extensive listing of dates and events of importance to educators ranges from historical happenings to inventors' birthdays to important scientific discoveries and major literary publications. We also list Awareness Months and Weeks, such as Museum Month and National Geography Awareness Week. In addition to those valuable listings, Education World provides selected resources relevant to a topic to help educators develop plans to teach the events. Those resources are drawn from all over the Education World site, from lesson plan archives to subject centers to site reviews.
Special Theme Pages
Special Theme Pages
is another new concept we introduced during the last few months. Educators no longer need to search Education World's extensive resources for articles and information on a particular topic; we've done the searching for you! We compile resources that focus on a particular topic from a variety of Education World original content articles, lesson plans, site reviews, and subject centers. The result is a comprehensive theme page that the busy educator can quickly zero right in on. What a time saver!
Here are some recent examples.
Holidays Center
At our Holidays Center, we collect lesson plans, site reviews, books, games, and crafts associated with major holidays. The Holidays Center is not new, but we've expanded it and offer additional listings and resources.
Education World cordially invites educators, and anyone interested in the education of our country's children, to visit, explore, and learn how our new theme approach can help maximize valuable lesson planning time!
