(Oklahoma City) - This fall classroom teachers looking for creative and effective ways to take advantage of the Internet have a new free guidebook: Net Lessons: Education World's Internet Primer.
Education World, an Internet Web site for educators, and O'Reilly & Associates have teamed up to offer the free 30-page booklet which offers advice on how teachers can integrate the Internet into their classroom, as well as classroom tested lesson plans using the Internet.
"Net Lessons makes teachers' jobs easier by providing them ideas and lesson plans that they can use in the classroom," said Gary Hopkins, editor-in-chief of Education World. "Ultimately, when teachers use the Internet in school, the students are the ones who benefit the most."
Some of the lesson plans include e-mail correspondence with students from across the United States and around the world (known as "e-pals") to study environmental and cultural issues.
The Net Lessons booklet is based on Laura Parker Roerden's book, Net Lessons: Web-Based Projects For Your Classroom, which has been recommended by PBS. The book is published by O'Reilly & Associates.
The free Net Lessons booklet is available by calling 1-800-494-3925, ext. 600 or by registering online at www.education-world.com/netlessons.
