MAKES THE BEST EVEN BETTER
with major updates scheduled for Q1 2000
(Oklahoma City, Ok) - Education World, the world's best education resource on the web (FamilyPC), is at it again. First quarter 2000 will bring many new features to the award-winning website.
In the first week of January the site launched three new original content areas for educators, "Technology in the Classroom," "Great Sites for Teaching," and "Teacher Submitted Lesson Plans," to further enhance the offerings currently found on the site. Also in January, two new sections and four new feature areas will be added to www.education-world.com.
The "Subject Centers" section will provide information on each of the learning disciplines, from art to social science. Here educators will find "one-stop shopping" in an area devoted entirely to their subject, complete with message boards, interactive questions of the week, and teaching matrices for each subject included in the category. Convenient links to other related areas on the Education World web site will also be provided.
A "Communities" section is being developed to provide a forum where specific groups of users can meet to share ideas and information pertinent to their corner of the "education world". Communities to be launched in first quarter include Preservice Education, Early Childhood, Special Education, and Vocational Education.
New upgrades to our feature area section will continue to develop the "resource center" aspect of the site. "Collaborative Projects" will offer a database of concurrent projects on the Internet, project reviews and Education World articles on the topic, while the "Grants" page will help educators find funding.
"We know our users will be excited to see what changes we have in store for 2000," Education World President Brian Mauck said. "An exciting aspect of the changing nature of education is the ability to collaborate with classrooms in multiple geographic locations via the Internet. We understand the importance of this interaction and are working hard to make it easier for educators to communicate and explore new ideas."
Education World, based in Oklahoma City, is the Internet's largest education-specific search engine, linking to over 120,000 education-related sites. The search engine is appropriate for all ages and searchable by subject or grade level. The site also offers weekly original content - lesson planning activities, curriculum ideas, education site reviews, worldwide education employment listings, forums, education news and many other features to assist the education community online.
