Education World Forms Separate Entity From American Fidelity

PRINCETON, N.J. (August 28, 2000) -- Education World.comŽ, the leading Internet resource center for K-12 educators, announced today that due to growth and greater brand recognition it has transitioned from a division of Oklahoma-City based American Fidelity Corp. to a wholly owned subsidiary called Education World.com, Inc.

Since its inception in August 1996, monthly page views on www.educationworld.com have grown to five million and 500,000 unique users interested in education. Last month, Education World.com formed an alliance with the 35,000-member National Association of Elementary School Principals to ease communications among underfunded schools, busy parents and the broader communities through Web-based services.

"When the Internet became mainstream in the mid-1990s, we envisioned the impact it could have for every teacher and child in the classroom. American Fidelity already had expertise in providing services to the education community, so we integrated our hands-on experience with access to the worldwide library at the classroom level," said William Cameron, chairman of American Fidelity Corp.

Previously funded solely by American Fidelity, Education World.com is now in the process of raising external capital and building upon its existing strategic partnerships with key businesses and educational institutions.

Teachers and principals can save time surfing the Web for any topic on the Education World.com site and gain only information filtered for educational purposes. Currently, Education World.com links to 120,000 sites and has 25,000 original content pages, written by the company's staff of writers who all have experience in the educational field.
